Meet the Characters
Kiona
Kiona Atalanta Woodfall resides in the forest town of Shenandoah on the island of Gardenia, she is the Forest Ringmaster in the Trials of Maturity, and is the incarnated form of the angel of hope called Tiqvah. Achak is her little brother who is an incarnated heart angel of hers called Levtiqvah. Talako and Nakoma were Kiona's parents, Kwahu and Macha are her cousins, Chief Samoset is her uncle, and Enid is her grandmother on her father's side, whereas Joan, her triplet little brothers, and Chloe are her cousins, with Archibald her uncle, and all of the wealthy MacDuff Clan on her mother's side. Kiona's best friends are Abenanka and Princess Roso, and is the womance partner and guardian angel to Rubecula, whom she loves in shared faith, rather than by feelings and by sight. Kiona's purpose as "The Maid of the Heart" is to help defeat Eresh Kigal and restore the world back to The Father's prophetic path in the last days.
Levtiqvah
Levtiqvah is the heart angel to Tiqvah who represents the hearts of women. Resembling a little boy, he has the ability to shrink whenever comfortable or grieved. Levtiqvah has the gift of reading and understanding the hearts of the women he listens to, most accurately when within a woman's chest when shrunk. He was incarnated as a child with Gifted disability called Achak, just as Tiqvah was incarnated as Kiona. After he was killed by Eresh Kigal at Dagger Teeth Pass, his presence returned within the heart of Kiona which fulfilled the appearing of The Maid of the Heart. Both Levtiqvah and Tiqvah are symbiotic, and although Tiqvah can't take the form of any except her incarnation as Kiona, Levtiqvah can only take the form of women like Okasa and Shai, with the exception of his incarnation as Achak. As Kiona's heart, he also loves being one with Rubecula's heart for the pure and truthful treasures she stores within her, not least because she was a friend to his friend Mira Melsbach when in the form of Okasa. And with the faith-fuelled womance relationship between his older sister and Rubecula, Levtiqvah found himself having two homes within his two guardians.
Rubecula
Rubecula Sander is a bubbly farm girl who speaks German and had originated from a world full of giants whom Mira met, befriended, and sacrificed herself for her so as to let Rubecula come to Mira's world, liberating her from her panic attacks and fears. Rubecula then joins The Coalition where her path on finding Mira's closest friend Okasa leads her to find Levtiqvah, and her womance partner Kiona, who although having a crush on her at first, Rubecula gradually matured her affection through Kiona's guidance, and after trying to save Kiona from General Lao-Hou in Riven, proclaimed herself and to Kiona to be her protective heroine, loving her more in shared faith than by feelings and sight. Simple with her personality, her bringing up as a soldier from her world has given her a sense of responsibility for her new home's cause. Rubecula enjoys having Levtiqvah nestled within her chest that she calls her little nest, seeing herself like a chirpy little robin sitting over her chick, which helps to improve her agape love for him and Kiona.
Nascha
Nascha is the brash and boyish daughter to the Chief of Shikoba from The Great Western Lands who has a tolerance to the hottest chillies. She was proposed to marry her future husband Achak once he came of age, and had to cope with his loss after his passing. Once recovered, Nascha vows to use her freedom to help Kiona on her quest as The Maid of the Heart.
Abenanka
Abenanka is Kiona's childhood friend who is an Ainu from Retania, who's also best friends to Isonash, Hasinaw, Rui-Lin, and Abigail. She also befriended Levtiqvah through Hasinaw and was like a mother to him.
Abigail
Abigail is well known for her incredible speed and her lethal boomerangs in her hair. she serves with The Coalition and acts as a Royal Guard in Princess Roso's court in Belladina. She is also a well-established friend to Abenanka, Isonash, Hasinaw, Kiona, and Rui-Lin.
Princess Roso
Princess Roso is the charitable ruler of the Principality of Tovaro in Cornelia. She became best friends with Kiona after saving her from a ledge while travelling through the traitorous Dagger Teeth Pass with The Masked Piper on the search for Eresh Kigal, and where she had taken the kidnapped children. She is very thankful for Achak for sacrificing his life for hers, which when revealing The Maid of the Heart being Kiona had her invited to the Ball in her palace in Belladina to prevent a second assassination attempt from Eresh Kigal.
Isonash
Isonash is the Ainu twin brother to Hasinaw who originated from Retania. They were both known friends to Abenanka, Rui-Lin, Abigail, Princess Roso, and Levtiqvah. Both served in The Shepherds, but after Hasinaw left after being blinded by an Aracktor, Isonash continued weathering on, even joining the newly formed Coalition. Long afterwards and meeting Kiona for the first time helped him with his lack of confidence. He was later married to his Sámi girlfriend Birtá.
Hasinaw
Hasinaw is the Ainu twin sister to Isonash who originated from Retania. They were both known friends to Abenanka, Rui-Lin, Abigail, Princess Roso, and Levtiqvah. Both served in The Shepherds, but after Hasinaw was blinded by an Aracktor and had to get used to her blindness, she then formed an alias as The Masked Piper in Austrinia to protect the disabled people, the gifted, from a persecuting world. When meeting Kiona for the first time, her sight was restored and so was her chance to finish off her yet-to-be-finished Trials of Maturity.
Birtá
Birtá is the girlfriend to Isonash who was brought up with her twin brother Beartu in Kimiaiya in Gardenia by her Sámi parents who originally came from Falloe. Both when they were older served The Shepherds and later The Coalition, with her working as a medic. After Isonash's loss of his and Hasinaw's parents, Birtá helped him realise that he meant something. She befriended Kiona once she found her's and Isonash's relationship is amutual one. Birtá and Isonash later got married in Sámi tradition in a village in Falloe where her's and her twin brother's parents now live.
Gwendolyn
Gwendolyn is a Cymru relic from Afallon who has a long-standing prejudice against the English, traditionally going as far back as her greatest ancestor, Emrys Wledig, the original King Arthur. Though tamer in her years, Gwendolyn still has her bloodthirsty tendencies, especially in combat. Her family blood also extends to the Gardenian royal family with King Arthur IV.
Angelica
Angelica is the ousted heir to Svalbarnia's throne that was taken from her by her sister, Cynthia Caesar and her ruthless Northern Roman Empire. Now working for The Coalition, and with her uncle, Saga Saul, Angelica had been working in secret to undo her sister's and Yin Gui-Wu's power. She was intrigued when meeting The Maid of the Heart, Kiona, and put her support to Gardenia's war for independence against the oblivious, exploiting and corrupt Ur Alliance of Urcaledon and Celeste.
General Glandar
General Glandar is one of the main generals of The Northern Roman Empire. Leader of the Tenth Legion with Commander Rufina and Commander Marcus, her conniving and ruthless attributes is as old as when she was a Baron Raider, only to be put into use for The Shepherds with her younger sister Cora and youngest brother Monedue. The scars she attained was in result of a narrow escape from another world when she was part of the 14th and 16th Regiments. Found and assisting The Northern Roman Empire, her rank rose to General in no time. She is notorious with Rufina and other women Legionaries for harassing Achak at Dagger Teeth Pass, including the amputation of his fingers with shears. She also became head of the curve when discovering who Kiona is as The Maid of the Heart and had been observing her activities closely for Cynthia Caesar.
General Lao-Hou
General Lao-Hou is a cybotic general to The Yin-Lung Dynasty, and everloyal right to Yin Gui-Wu. His retractable claws and threatening appearance comes complete with his patient persuasions. He has long-standing confrontations with Isonash and Rui-Lin, and has a notorious streak when confronting his foes in The Hindari and The Yang-Lin Dynasty. He is proven to be impenetrable, not even Kiona as Tiqvah can put this tiger to sleep, and had instead made his presence felt the more in the occupied Emeralds with General Xie-Zi, who took over General Tang-Lang's job after her bitter end by Tiqvah.
Eresh Kigal
Eresh Kigal is the main antagonist of the Saga, a mysterious character who is built of big time. She was originally an angel called Samael before the sin of jealousy towards the angel hierarchy and how The Father set it up corrupted him and led to his fall, with the creation of the first man being the final straw. Merging with the earth to become what she is, posing by many names like Lilith and Eresh Kigal, she attempted to destroy the first man, only for Levtiqvah to stall her long enough for The Father to appear and, because of her sins now exposed, had her banished from his Kingdom and the paradise. Since then, she had grown a fit of fiery jealousy towards men and women for thinking they were created by The Father to replace angels. She especially has a fiery hatred towards Levtiqvah and Tiqvah for foiling her attempts to start a revolt in order to liberate all angelkind. Eresh Kigal lead her angels, then later Tyraunts after the angels abandoned her for The Adversary, on a warpath against all of existence, creator and creations alike, good and evil. She was sealed away during "The Flood", only to re-emerge four thousand years later. Once The Maid of the Heart appeared after Eresh Kigal shot Achak who got in the way of her real target, Princess Roso, she had been in hiding. Just like a thief in the night, no one knows when the next time she will strike.
Keras & Elafiou
Fallen Angels who are the only loyal allies left in Eresh Kigal's rebellion. While Elafiou was imprisoned within The Palanquin's Magnus Stone in the time before The Flood, her brother, Keras, who'd survived, was determined to free both his sister and Eresh Kigal from their imprisonments. He was sealed away by Tiqvah and Levtiqvah during the Ice Age, though not before making a strong vow that if anything happens to the Magnus Stone Elafiou is imprisoned within, he will be free and reunited with her.
